ANDREW M. WALSH
is originally from Nashville, Tennessee, with sojourns in various cities, including
Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA. He received his B.A. degree in Economics and
History from Cornell University in 1983, and his JD and MBA degrees from the
University of Tennessee, where he was editor in chief of the Tennessee Judicial
Newsletter and moot court finalist. Mr. Walsh has served as a legal-economic
analyst for the Tennessee Attorney General's Antitrust and Consumer Protection
Division, and for a Washington, D.C. consulting firm, working on nationally
recognized mergers, acquisitions and antitrust cases and issues.
Mr. Walsh was admitted
to the Tennessee Bar in 1989 and the Georgia Bar in 1993. After completing
a state appellate court judicial clerkship, Mr. Walsh worked as an associate
for the New York/San Diego firm of Milberg, Weiss, Bershad, Specthrie & Lerach
in Knoxville, Tennessee representing the FDIC on a nationally reknowned accountant
malpractice lawsuit involving a "Big Four" accounting firm and a series of
failed banks, culminating in a one year jury trial and a large, confidential
settlement. Thereafter, Mr. Walsh joined the Atlanta firm of Powell, Goldstein,
Frazer & Murphy, continuing his large complex accountant's malpractice, director
and officer liability, failed bank and antitrust legal practice. Mr. Walsh
joined Mr. Ladson after five years of solo practice in Atlanta, where he continued
his complex business trial practice, adding high-tech and securities litigation
to his repertoire. He is also an avid champion of and fully trained in "ADR"
– Alternative Dispute Resolution – a newer
form of settling disputes out of court via mediation, arbitration and similar
procedures. Mr. Walsh is qualified to serve as an advocate or neutral in ADR
proceedings, as the situation may require.
